Travelling within the European Union
To travel between EU countries, your dog, cat or ferret needs:
- A microchip.
- An EU pet passport.
- A valid rabies vaccination. If it is the first one, you must wait at least 21 days before travelling.
We can microchip and vaccinate your pet and issue the passport.
Travelling to the UK or outside the EU
Every country has its own requirements, and they change over time. Book an appointment well in advance and we will tell you at the consultation what your pet needs for your destination.
Moving to Spain with your pet
- In Andalusia, dogs, cats and ferrets must be listed on the official identification register. We will help you register your pet at your new address.
- The rabies vaccine is compulsory in Andalusia and is given once a year.
- We will explain the risks specific to the area, such as leishmaniasis and ticks, which may not exist in your home country.
- Bring your pet's vaccination card or passport with its history and we will go through it at the first visit.
